WHAT THE PRESS ARE SAYING ABOUT
BRITAIN’S KING OF SLIDE GUITAR

“Redfern is a slide guitarist working in a hard rock genre and this album kicks ass in a way you really wouldn’t expect.” – Music News, 4/5

“Redfern’s slide is a constant force, and his growled vocals have a punk edge that is missing from so many bands today. Not to say that he has no variation, on the contrary he has a few ballads here that are cutting and emotional and they stand beside the rockers perfectly.” – Music News, 4/5

“‘One Way Ticket’ sets the scene with wailing slide aver a massive drumbeat and howled vocals, the whole thing exploding out of the speakers followed by ‘Love and War’, slower but even more powerful, polyrhythmic, and featuring two excellent solos. ‘On Fire’ is as its name suggests – dark smoky and hot.”
Music News, 4/5

“Troy Redfern is one of the country’s best players and writers and the album is a blast from start to finish.” – Music News, 4/5

The Fire Cosmic’ fuels Troy Redfern's guitar and is definitely a great listen throughout, the second half takes us into a different orbit.” – Blues Doodles

“’Ghosts’ is the stand-out track on the album and is more representative of the artist’s style to date.  Rather than smashing the heck out of his Ludwig Vistalite kit, the drummer lays down a lively but controlled double-time tattoo over which delightful acoustic guitars and a National Triolian steel-lock together, underpinning a strong melody and a rousing chorus with harmonised vocals and evocative lyrics.” Blues Doodles

“’Sanctify’ is a rollicking number with a crunching, but not overpowering riff, driven along by some acceptably dominant drumming.” Blues Doodles

“’Stone’ closes the collection and builds slowly to a huge, anthemic wall of sound, that dies away at the death with just the sound of a piano playing.”
Blues Doodles

“There’s a real sense of Marty McFly with Troy Redfern, the artist straddling both the past and the present with equal aplomb… Redfern, though, doesn’t need a DeLorean or anything fancy like that. All he needs is his trusty guitar, a microphone, and listeners attentive ears.” – Metal Talk

“The Fire Cosmic truly taps into a vast canvas of (mainly) American rock from the past fifty years, weaving together elements that paint a compelling and intoxicating picture that says more with one song than many books can in 500 pages.” – Metal Talk

“A lifetime love of music has been distilled into these ten tracks, and the passion shines throughout, Redfern dipping into blues, country and garage rock as he brings the songs to life, each with their distinctive character.” – Metal Talk

“The album opens with a roar, the heavy and propulsive Scorpio mixing an authentic 1960’s Dick Dale vibe with the sort of feral attitude the MC5 made their own in a real slap to the senses.” – Metal Talk

“It’s not all just full-blooded, heavily crunching, six-string blitzing on The Fire Cosmic, though, far from it, the album just so full of the many sonic textures of Americana and beyond.” – Metal Talk

“Listening to Redfern, you get a full panoply of hues, a joyful trip thumbing through a much-loved collection of classics from the ’70s that covers The Eagles, Free, Skynyrd, Jackson Browne and the Allmans amongst others with a bit of Sabbath thrown in there.” – Metal Talk

“In an album of all killer, no filler, there’s no end of highlights, but it’s when Redfern takes his foot off the gas that he shines the most and the likes of epic widescreen Country rocker Ghosts, and stunning closer Stone manage to sound huge without throwing all but the kitchen sink in.” – Metal Talk

“It’s been a great year for new album releases, and The Fire Cosmic is up there with the best.” – Metal Talk

“Troy Redfern is a living testament to the potency of great material, superb playing and the power of an honest, raw heart full of soul.” – Metal Talk

“Firebrand six-stringer Troy Redfern, pounds into post-lockdown action in indomitable incendiary fashion with the release of the highly vaunted long-player ‘The Fire Cosmic’.” – Metal Planet Music

“Redfern attacks with a ferocious earthy slide that overlies an engaging blues-rock groove; a packed arsenal that is utilised to the maximal and is fully enhanced with a stellar rhythm section.” – Metal Planet Music

“Album opener ‘Scorpio’ stomps in pushing the metaphorical pedal to the metal; its combustive mannerisms with a souped up V8-rockabilly beat lavished over a blues-rock edged undercurrent will have Danish fusionists Volbeat salivating. It’s a dirty, gritty, grime encrusted high-octane guzzling beast of a dragster; the perfect machine when you have the blue lights on your tail and you’re heading south for the border.” – Metal Planet Music

“The second half of the album gets underway with the funky, southern-laced licks of ‘Lay That Love Down’ as the storm prior passes. Imagine a melding of Lenny Kravitz and The Black Crowes and one is transported into the arena this tune inhabits; it’s an unexpected and welcome turn.” – Metal Planet Music

“’Ghosts’ features a delicious Americana feel throughout takes the listener along for the journey, with a steam train beat, across the plains and through the foothills of that distant mountain range.” – Metal Planet Music

“Closing track ‘Stone’ is an absolute masterpiece. From the wavering notes of the intro to the atmospheric piano keys of the fading outro this six-minutes exudes utter marvel.” – Metal Planet Music

“Great things await this humble blues-rocker for sure; this release will surely provide the springboard to a thoroughly deserved higher level.” – – Metal Planet Music

“‘The Fire Cosmic’ is not just a classic rock album that captures the raw energy of life and the greatness of the slide guitar, it is a recording that gives is hope of continual performance in 2021.” – Liverpool Sound and Vision, 9/10

“In a period of time for which we have taken it upon ourselves to survive at all costs, Troy Redfern has dug deeper into the Pandora’s Box we opened, and found beyond hope, the often mislabelled and misunderstood emotion of courageous fury, the passion for creation; and it is one that Mr. Redfern holds aloft with a smile.” – Liverpool Sound and Vision, 9/10

“‘The Fire Cosmic’ is without doubt one of the albums of the year, erudite, passionate, insistent, full of flame and unquenchable rage, yet one that doesn’t leave a scar on the skin, instead slowly has the listener believing they should heed the words of the Cosmos with more care and attention.”
Liverpool Sound and Vision, 9/10

The Fire Cosmic’ – It’s big. It’s loud. It’s proud.”
Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“To fully understand the conceptual album title, it’s helpful to identify the forces at work behind an artist whose licks, array of tones, gutsy phrasing and even his use of song titles are part of an astrological force field, as evidenced by the passion and power to be found in the opening ‘Scorpio’.”
Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“He’s born to tap into primordial energies that are the origin of every universal concept. He’s a musical conduit for creative force manipulation, as he lets everything flow through his music and explode on to a huge audio canvas that is set to echo round the universe.” Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“Troy explores his own psychological being with a musical arc that stretches from down-home antecedents to a mix of grunge, metal and hard rock with a bluesy undertow, and even a hint of gospel.” Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“Redfern taps into the ghosts of the past that inspire him to fill his canvas to the brim with explosive licks, enveloping drones, booming choruses, angst ridden lyrics and a comic book superhero artwork.” Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“From the moment he lights the fuse with some brief fazed, faux psychedelia and opening surf rock riffling of ‘Scorpio’ he forges a post-Zeppelin into grunge template. He tops that with razor edged vocals and a booming chorus that drips with intensity and rattle neighbourhood with sheer sonic density.”
Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“Everything about this album is big, from the unrelenting drums to the resonant guitar tones. It’s all framed by an epic wall of sound that cushions Redfern’s flinty style in a heavy Phil Spector style veneer.” Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“’The Fire Cosmic!’ is a melange of booming riffs, pounding rhythms, and incendiary guitar bursts that are an extension of his own intensity.”
Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“‘Waiting For Your Love’ blows away any remaining cobwebs with a huge riff driven boogie, while his husky vocal rasp is well suited to his raging heart theme. It’s a track on which you can feel the band pushing every last air molecule round the studio on a barnburner of a track.” Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“‘On Fire’ plays to the shredding strengths of special guest Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, on a big drone-into-shred piece… rocks like a kicking mule.”
Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“An impressive album that will satisfy rock and guitar fans alike. Sure, there’s a whiff of retro grunge, hair metal and shred influences but Troy Redfern has paid his dues and he’s now coming to collect. He should be amply rewarded.”
Get Ready to Rock, 5.5 Stars

“Dubbed Britain’s “King of Slide Guitar” Troy Redfern has produced an exceptional new album in The Fire Cosmic laden in layers of slide guitar and acoustic resonator sounds – raunchy, sleazy vintage blues rock.”
Life, Music, Media

“The Fire Cosmic has some serious pedigree.” – Life, Music, Media

“There is something unique and explosive in the sounds Troy is able to wrench from his guitars, and the use of the Resonator provides something quite special in the layered harmonies and sonic roughness of the underlying tones.”
Life, Music, Media

“The wild sounding opening of Scorpio tears its way out of the swamp like a rockabilly biker brandishing a flaming Gretsch, an absolute rip-snorter of a track, with Troy providing an intense vocal line over the multiple melody lines of bass and guitars, and the solo adds another level of wildness to the whole thing.”
–– Life, Music, Media

“The steel resonator guitar and the rollicking riff it delivers is the basis for the powerhouse boogie of Waiting For Your Love with a huge catchy chorus, and Troy’s raucous voice is the perfect counter to the power of the guitars. By track 3, it is clear that this wall of slide guitar noise is a trademark, and One Way Ticket is like a Bon Jovi anthem with the slide guitars on overdrive, and a monster chorus that Desmond Child would have killed to have written!”
–– Life, Music, Media

“Riff of the year blasts out of the grooves with On Fire, which features Ron Thal on his twin-neck, and is more of a heavy trash-rock number, and the solo is so different to anything Troy delivers that you’d know it was someone else. Searing and intricate guitar work then leads into some powerhouse riffing as the track builds up to the final feral chorus.” –– Life, Music, Media

“Back to the slide guitar with a funky touch in Lay That Love Down, all Electric Boys and Bad Company-style 1970’s blues-rock swagger, and a multi-layered harmony vocal extravaganza in the chorus. There are lead breaks all through the verses and choruses, that are supercharged in the solo, while the band powers along with the rock-sold backing.” –– Life, Music, Media

“Ghosts, which returns to the signature sounds of the resonator, although with rambling acoustic guitars and spaghetti western vibe that give it an altogether different feel, melancholy and intense, with a drawl in the vocal delivery. The tempo rolls along like a desert train-ride, before the searing slide-guitar solo takes control.” –– Life, Music, Media

“’Sanctify’, a heavy blues boogie stomp, that epitomises what Troy Redfern is all about, and demands that the volume gets turned up, and that multiple listens are required to really grasp the depth and complexity of the guitar work.”
–– Life, Music, Media

The album closes with Stone, an emotional roots rocker, all vintage slide guitar, and a southern mountain drawl… a shift into a 70’s rock ballad. The slide guitar rambles along underpinning the melody, before soaring into the skies and beyond for the solo, while those BVs continue, Joe Cocker style, through to a dramatic melodic finale, played out on the piano on which Bohemian Rhapsody was recorded!” –– Life, Music, Media

“If you only buy one Troy Redfern album this year, make sure it is this one.”
We Bleed Music

“Kicking off withScorpio’, the screeching feedback intro tells you straight away you’re in for a rocking track; the rock and roll rhythm section tear it up on this number with the raspy growl of Troy, and it’s not long before you get an amazing guitar solo from him: this is a great opener.” – We Bleed Music

“‘Waiting for your Love’ – Dirty sassy blues boogie at Its best, with an anthemic chorus and some hot slide work.” – We Bleed Music

“‘Love and War’ - Blues with a lot of soul: slow, moody and magnificent.”
We Bleed Music

“‘Ghosts’ is Blues Americana, with Darby playing the train drum shuffle beat, and an Appalachian guitar style from Troy played on his 1929 National Triolian resonator guitar, which is used many times on this album. There is some amazing guitar playing here, a real toe tapping joy.” – We Bleed Music

“Ending the album with ‘Stone’.  A beautiful, I suppose you could call it an anti-love ballad, a message of freedom and release, the whole band goes out on a storm. This will be a great song to end a gig, or even play as an encore.” – We Bleed Music

“Troy Redfern is one of this year’s prime movers and his star is most definitely on the rise. Get yourself dialled into The Fire Cosmic and see what all the excitement is about.” – Rock and Blues Muse

“Ghosts” is another body-mover, this time sitting on a simmering train beat that provides this spacious cut everything it needs to rise to greatness.”
Rock and Blues Muse

“Redfern blasts the album open with the surf/rockabilly burner “Scorpio.” He and the band attack the track with pure rock energy and a tequila-and-mescaline attitude that will bring the desert into your listening room. If you’re not on the hook by the end of this one, you just don’t like rock and roll.”
Rock and Blues Muse

“Waiting For Your Love” is a stomping, anti-hero boogie with a sharp edge and a huge pocket. Redfern rips through it on his vintage 1929 National Triolian resonator guitar, an incredible-sounding instrument that cuts through the mix like a hot sword through butter.” – Rock and Blues Muse

“‘Scorpio' is a rockabilly psycho ball buster of a tune… Intensive guitar and vocals throughout all taking you along for a ride of volcanic proportions.”
Two Finger Media 9.5/10

“You will not find another album that comes close to this in style, passion, commitment and uniqueness this year, so don't expect this to sound like any other album you have. Troy is a one off and does everything his way and it certainly works.” – Two Finger Media 9.5/10

“‘The Fire Cosmic’ is explosive, haunting, melodic, and full of intense drama throughout and is 100% authentic in every way.” – Two Finger Media 9.5/10

“Troy Redfern is about to unleash his career-defining album that elevates him to a whole new level.” – Great Music Stories

“Imagine Marshal Jed Cooper and Captain Jack Sparrow racing to Rockfield late at night in the Batmobile – and you have the essence of ‘Scorpio’. The swagger and grit of a spaghetti western, menacing rhythms reminiscent of the Batman theme, presented by the poncho-clad warrior. Welcome to ‘The Fire Cosmic’ folks.” – Great Music Stories

“One cannot overstate the liberating magic of full-blooded live performance from start to finish on this fine album. After 16-months of lockdown, a world without gigs – where the best many of us got was pre-recorded streams of rehearsal sets or bedroom acoustic sets – here we get a real taste of what we’ve really been missing.” – Great Music Stories

“Right place, right time, ‘The Fire Cosmic’ is an album release for a moment in history. An album that creatively defied the imposed limitations of lockdown and yet has served up something natural, something empowering – and totally authentic.” – Great Music Stories

“‘On Fire’ does exactly what it says on the tin – it feels like an audio inferno, a song intense with menace, roughness, and natural power that evokes the movement and destructive force of furious flames.” – Great Music Stories

“‘Ghosts’ conjures up visions of the wide-open plains, a western story about escaping a doomed relationship and heading off into the sunset horizon.”
Great Music Stories

‘Sanctify’ is signature Redfern with a heavy blues boogie. In some ways, this song is a culmination of all the textures on this album, gathered in one song but put on steroids.” – Great Music Stories

“‘Stone’ An inspiring anthem with almost spiritual qualities that evokes rebirth… a song so fitting for our re-emergence from lockdown. The rousing ‘free in this life’ chorus lines capture the power of the human spirit to endure as the almost-symphonic wall of sound brings the curtain down on this album with emotionally charged, widescreen drama.” – Great Music Stories

“The short ‘n’ zippy “Scorpio” thunders straight off the grid like a burning hot-rod that’s been over-pumped with nitrous oxide. It has a vibrant, shimmying beat, pillowy vintage-bass pulsations and a slightly frayed, semi-scorched vocal.”
Raw Ramp

“One Way Ticket” smells hot and lazy, like a slimy street-punk littering the front porch of a five and dime on a muggy day. Not only is this song steamy and sweaty, it also delivers an upbeat, bouncy chorus while the slide-guitar zips ahead of the verse, to swirl around like a demon-possessed bumblebee.”
Raw Ramp

“If you can imagine the agility of Elmore James, the knack of Noël Akchoté and the unpolished nubbiness of Mississippi Fred McDowell, you will be close to grasping the nature of these tousled yet monumentally distinctive numbers. This album is filled with radiance and weather-worn splendor!” – Raw Ramp

“Everything about ‘The Fire Cosmic’ shouts quality.” – Rock Poser

“What Troy has done to create ‘The Fire Cosmic’ was certainly, financially at least, a huge gamble, but boy has that gamble paid off.” – Rock Poser

“From the searing ‘Love & War’ or the album opener ‘Scorpio’, which are at the rock end of the spectrum, to the wonderful ‘Lay That Love Down’ or the slideastic final track ‘Stone’, this album covers such a wide range of influences and styles, and does so remarkably well, without having a single-track stick out like a sore thumb.” – Rock Poser

This album was created with a “wall of sound” for each song. Combine that with the stellar arrangements and exceptional musicianship to herald this recording as Troy’s best so far. The songs are a perfect mix of Blues Rock, Hard Rock, Americana type Blues and Classic Rock and Roll. Troy Redfern has become a master storyteller with his music.” – Rock at Night

“’Scorpio’ the opening song is the classic rock and roll driving song that one must listen to at max volume. In fact, listening to this song while driving would probably get me a speeding ticket!” Rock at Night

“’Ghosts’ features some beautiful guitar work, not as hard rock as the last single. It opens with some swampy blues riffs on Troy’s resonator. This song is more ballad-like with the painful spiritual lyrics. A dramatic guitar solo punctuates the end of the song as it comes to the “big finish” chorus along with lots of beautiful background vocals. Yes, you will want to sing along!” Rock at Night

“’Sanctify’ is driving, relentless rock and roll with a fast tempo, played hard and crazy sick! Loved this one! Another one that could force me to make bad driving decisions.” Rock at Night

“On ‘Stone’ there were some beautifully arranged backing vocals. This song picked up tempo and electric guitar was interlaced with the acoustic guitars and reached a crescendo during the last chorus with the vocals. The song faded out with the main melodic line softly played on piano. A real stand-out!” Rock at Night

Ghosts

“Troy Redfern is offering fans something for nothing.” – Devils Gate Music

“It’s Redfern’s prowess as a guitar-slinger that makes him stand out from the pack. There are so many noteworthy guitar flourishes, licks, tones, and one jaw-dropping solo, during the four-minute running time that your head will spin; in a good way.” – Devils Gate Music

Ghosts sets forth with a suggestive Appalachian-style rounded performed on his raddled & played-out 1929 National Triolian resonator, which sets the aesthetic ambience for this remarkable studio album.” – Raw Ramp

Ghosts sends signals down the Americana/country route, but then Redfern comes in with some explosive fretboard work and even the gap-toothed kid with the banjo in Deliverance throws in the towel.” – Devils Gate Music

Troy states, “To me this song is part two to The Line. It’s the same woman in the narrative of that song. She's escaped from a destructive, violent relationship, and is riding into the sunset, never once looking back.”

One word that keeps coming up when people describe Troy's music and guitar playing is authentic, and with Ghosts this couldn't be more apparent. From the layers of weaving acoustic resonator guitars to the blistering slide guitar solo, Ghosts takes you on a musical journey deep into the Wild West.

This brand-new video for Ghosts captures the essence of the songs vintage, Appalachian feel. Filmed at a rustic cabin on the banks of the river Wye, Troy's performance encapsulates the sense of urgency and the striving for resolution that can be heard echoing throughout his big sky cinematic soundscape.

Waiting for Your Love

“Waiting For Your Love” It’s rollicking boogie rock the way that Foghat used to do. It’s chock full of searing slide guitar while Mr Redfern has a sneering tone to his vocal that suits the rambunctious sounds that are going on. The production is fantastic. If the point of a single is to get you moist and jumpy in anticipation of an album, then it’s safe to say job well done. A cracker.” – Zeitgeist

“If this is a taster of what is to come, and I think we are in for a treat as this musician brings his skills by the truck load.” Jace Media

“Listen to the riff on this. The dirty slide guitar that seems to have been ripped from the swamps. There’s a heaviness here, a crunch, a skill… Here, it sounds primal, like he simply has to do it. Failure isn’t an option.”
Maximum Volume Music

The best song he’s released so far. In football terms, if Redfern was top of the Championship, then consider “Waiting For Your Love” an assault on the Premier League.” – Maximum Volume Music

“Waiting For Your Love is a song with a real swing about it, complete with lashings of bodacious slide guitar, a killer drum sound, and raw, gritty vocals that ooze authenticity, ‘Waiting for Your Love’ is what would have happened had Billy Gibbons ever jammed with Marc Bolan on a John Lee Hooker cover.” – Devils Gate Music

“Troy’s sound is hard-hitting, in-your-face, deep-down-and-dirty, raw, dirty, fuzzy, swampy, cosmic blues-rock. Troy dives straight in with his signature slide guitar, and it is only a few bars before his smoky, gravely and raspy voice graces us with its presence.” – MNPR Magazine

“Troy is best known as a guitar player, but his husky vocals are an integral part of his sound, equality as melodic as the other instrumentation, adding a much welcome dynamic to the track, something which other guitarists often neglect.” – MNPR Magazine

“The band is tight, Troy’s playing is at the top of its game, and the production level is right on point with Waiting For your Love.” MNPR Magazine

Waiting For Your Love is the aural equivalent of a double quarter pounder cheeseburger ’n’ fries with all the trimmings – greasily satisfying.” – Blues Enthused

“Never judge a book by its cover. With a song title of Waiting For Your Love, I was expecting some easy listening but how wrong was I as it’s barroom boogie at its beer swilling, pool playing best, point proven by the full on fuzzed up intro that tears into not just a toe tapping stomp but a Godzilla one!” – Planet Mosh, 5/5

“The lashings of slide guitar overload are a thing of aural beauty and the vocals of Troy sound as if they have been poured straight out of a honey flavoured Jack Daniels bottle. The production is so bullish it’s almost too claustrophobic but in a good way.” – Planet Mosh, 5/5

“Oh, this is good. This is really good. Huge, dirty and full of attitude, Waiting For Your Love is a roaring flame that brings a turbocharged jolt to modern blues.” Metal Planet Music

“Clutching his battered six string and howling like a heartsick wolf at midnight, Troy Redfern brings an authenticity that has one foot firmly in the ancient and soulful history of artists like Robert Johnson and adds to it a hard-edged modern production that is at once gloriously uptempo and yet shot through with the dust from that fabled crossroad.” – Metal Planet Music

“Big, bruising and full of swagger and heart, this barnstormer is hand-crafted to tear the roof off. You have been warned.” – Metal Planet Music

“Troy Redfern’s Waiting For Your Love single sees its birth take place inside the very studios which saw Queen bring Sheer Heart Attack and A Night At The Opera breathe their dynamic first breaths of dynamic splendour. Troy’s presence speaks volumes and is enough to have British music applaud loudly in appreciation of what’s to come.” – Liverpool Sound and Vision, 9/10

“Troy Redfern’s new single, is one that is juicy, ripe, one that titillates the senses and brings to mind the beauty of bands such as Z.Z. Top in the prime, but also with that bountiful Queen aggression that made the albums recorded at Rockfield Studios such good company to be in.” Liverpool Sound and Vision, 9/10

“Waiting For Your Love has the mood of the anticipation that a lover will see you for all you can offer. It has the grandness of expression, the expectation of poise, and the deftness of delivery which never once relents or fails to install faith. A tremendous single, and one that makes the heart skip happily…” – Liverpool Sound and Vision, 9/10

“Waiting For Your Love is the first taste from Troy Redfern’s forthcoming album that is going to have listeners utterly hooked.” – Sonic Abuse, 9/10

“Waiting For Your Love emerges from a gorgeous haze of amp noise and reverb to become masterful Delta stomp layered in heavy distortion and nailed to the floor by a drum beat that, at suitable volumes, threatens to overpower the stereo.” – Sonic Abuse, 9/10

“Recorded at Rockfield Studios (Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera) Waiting For Your Love is a gleeful racket that Troy and his band make, caught between Rory Gallagher at his most electrifying, Guns ‘n’ Roses (circa Dust ‘n’ Bones) and vintage psychedelia, and damn if it doesn’t make you want to head straight for the dancefloor!” – Sonic Abuse, 9/10

Waiting For Your Love is a genuinely thrilling teaser for an album that can’t arrive soon enough. Troy’s production totally rocks, and you can’t help the feeling that the live shows are going to be celebratory affairs indeed.  Now, what are you still doing here? Waiting For Your Love rocks hard and loud. It’s one of those songs  that you just have to cue up again as soon as its finished.” Music News, 4/5

“Troy Redfern is a hard-working musician, loves to play slide guitar and adores the blues and it certainly shows. He rocks hard as hell.” – Rock At Night

“After listening to the track, I have only one word–HOT! This song makes me think of a walk through the cypress trees, dodging clouds of “no see-ums” and being on the look-out for gators! This cut is a real swampy, Southern style boogie; a rocky blues tune designed to show-off Troy’s skill on the slide guitar.” – Rock At Night

Waiting For Your Love is rusted like a nail on the back-door.  It creaks like the lid of a jerrycan caught in the canker.” – Raw Ramp

You have been warned.”– Metal Planet Music

Top in the prime, but also with that bountiful Queen aggression that made the albums recorded at Rockfield Studios such good company to be in.” – Liverpool Sound and Vision, 9/10

Waiting For Your Love has the mood of the anticipation that a lover will see you for all you can offer. It has the grandness of expression, the expectation of poise, and the deftness of delivery which never once relents or fails to install faith. A tremendous single, and one that makes the heart skip happily…”Liverpool Sound and Vision, 9/10

Waiting For Your Love is the first taste from Troy Redfern’sforthcoming album that is going to have listeners utterly hooked.” – Sonic Abuse, 9/10

Waiting For Your Love emerges from a gorgeous haze of amp noise and reverb to become masterful Delta stomp layered in heavy distortion and nailed to the floor by a drum beat that, at suitable volumes, threatens to overpower the stereo.” – Sonic Abuse, 9/10

Recorded at Rockfield Studios (Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera)Waiting For Your Love is a gleeful racket that Troy and his band make, caught between Rory Gallagher at his most electrifying, Guns ‘n’ Roses (circa Dust ‘n’ Bones) and vintage psychedelia, and damn if it doesn’t make you want to head straight for the dancefloor!” – Sonic Abuse, 9/10

Waiting For Your Love is a genuinely thrilling teaser for an album that can’t arrive soon enough. Troy’s production totally rocks, and you can’t help the feeling that the live shows are going to be celebratory affairs indeed.  Now, what are you still doing here? Go and pre-order the album!” – Sonic Abuse, 9/10

Absolutely scuzzy, dense and slide filled Rock/Blues. This is a real belter.” – Music News, 4/5

“Troy Redfern lays down a strong and furious boogie that tips a wink to ZZ Top and Blackstone Cherry while somehow also being very British.” Music News, 4/5

Waiting For Your Love rocks hard and loud. It’s one of those songs that you just have to cue up again as soon as its finished.” Music News, 4/5

Having heard new single Waiting For Your Love we draw comparisons to a motorboat chugging unrelentingly through a dark, thick swamp as Redfern testifies with a howling lustful longing.” – Ramzine

It creaks like the lid of a jerrycan caught in thecanker.” – Raw Ramp

"It’s as deep, dark & hazardous as the spirits that lay dormant in Mississippi swamp-sludge… perhaps preparing to rise in the night to perpetrate a shadowy revenge on those too slow to respect them." – Raw Ramp

"Imagine Elmore James, playing with the free hand of Noël Akchoté but with the rough technique of Mississippi Fred McDowell, and you’ll be close to understanding the shaggy clarity.” – Raw Ramp

"Waiting For Your Love embodies conspicuous integrity, and the sandpapery distinctness of sound." – Raw Ramp
